im gonna be buying an EG hatch soon
this is my first post in the civic forum, i think, so first id just like to say hi.
im going to be buying an eg hatch soon and swapping an h23a1 into it. i just have a few questions. first, ill need a custom exhaust right? because i dont believe the civic exhaust will line up right with the h23 header. so my question is where can i get an exhaust made and how much should i expect to pay? i live in northern baltimore county in maryland in case anyone knows any good shops.
im pretty sure i could just search for the answer to this question but i just need a simple yes or no. will a 15x7 wheel fit in an eg hatch? i really dont have any eg experience so i dont know how deep the fenders go. im planning on getting rota slipstreams and i want the widest wheel i can get.
thanks in advance

Yes, you will need to customize the exhaust set up. Just about any competent muffler shop can take care of you. Prices over there, are going to probably be different than over here. If you have an aftermarket cat back, and just want to mate it to the new motor/header, they can cut and weld up a pipe to make it happen, shouldn't be much at all (under $100).

yes, a 15x7 will fit. and you will need to either replace the entire exhaust, ot at least make some sort of adapter, because I highly doubt that the h23 header will line up with ANY exhaust that you put on that car.

will they just make a downpipe that will line up with the cat and a muffler that i would already have? if so any suggestions on a good muffler? I think im gonna want to go with 2.25 inch piping. I want a whole new cat back system so i dont want to use the stock muffler.

If your exhaust is too short to meet up with the new motor/header, they'll add some piping allow it to bolt up properly. If it's too short, they'd cut some out to compensate.
If you don't have an aftermarket system at all, this would be the best time to do it. There's ton's of mufflers out there, I personally prefer the ES or Magnaflow oval mufflers, because they're not very noticeable, especially when painted black.
