it really doesn't matter.
When i buy parts from autozone, i give them crappy ****. Like the time i needed another dizzy for my Z6, i gave them a 90 dx dizzy as a core lol. I hold onto the better stuff and get rid of my dx crap. Like when I did my b20 swap...i gave them a ripped dx axle (the long one....LOL) and a ford bronco axle.....LOL!

Just curious. What's the matter with the 88si tranny compared to the 89-91 trannys. That's the tranny i'm using and it seems to perform just fine.
Nothing is really wrong with them, They just have a different Imput shaft Spline Count. I think the 88 is twenty and all the rest are 21. Thats the only difference between years most people dont wanna have to buy a new clutch so they opt for the 89-91.

thats what i thought as well
i have a doh zc in a 91 hf with a hf tranny want to swap with si but i thought that if i change the tranny i would have to change the tranny and axles and hubs?
i just want to chang the tranny not axles and hubs.
but if i do have to change the axles do i have to chang the hubs
can some one tell me for sure?

The HF Axles Will fit in the Si Tranny. If You wanted to use the Bigger SI Axles then you would need to Swap you hubs to the bigger hubs. But YES you can use HF Axles with the Si transmisson As long as you still have the HF hubs. You dont need to swap the hubs unless you want to use a ZC transmission or go B series really.

If you want to use the ZC Halfshaft And hell im not sure if theres anyway you can use that transmission witout using the halfshaft. Im not sure if it sits in the same spots as a Regular D- series transmission.

Its not Very hard Of Course you need the new Axles. And then you need the Steering knuckles of a Si. Removing the steering knuckles is pretty easy. You take of the upper ball joint and the lower ball joint and its out. But i really dont think the ZC will break the Hf axles.
