Crx DX with a b16a cuts out at 3200 rpms
Just swapped in a b16a into my 88 crx dx. Starts a little rough, sometimes kills, but once it is warm it runs ok. The problem I am having is that it will rev only till it gets to 3200 rpms or so. Then it cuts off till it goes back under 3200 rpms. I am pretty sure the wiring is all good, but does anyone have an idea what the problem could be? Could it be timing? Could it be fuel? Could it be the distributor or plugs, which appear to be good. Or are there any sensors that could be throwing this singnal. I can give it full throttle at anything under 3200 rpms and it doesn't kill, only when it gets to 3200 rpms. I can downshift and get a higher rpm, but once i give it gas, it cuts out.
It does drive the way it is, but i have to go pretty slow to stay under 3000 rpms. Any suggestions would help, Thanks.

Stop driving it. find out what code its throwing by looking at the number of flashes the ecu does. its definately in limp mode. its probably something like crank angle sensor or TDC sensor or Cyl. Position sensor. Most likely its in the distributor wiring or somewhere around there. But just check for codes and go from there. Good Luck.
Yes the check engine light is on, as well as the battery light because I haven't hooked the alternator belt up yet.
ECU is throwing a code 6 and 7, I have tested the coolant temp sensor, it's fine, runnig about 250 ohms and droping as it gets hotter, The fan however doesn't turn on so I am going to hook it up to stay on with the car or maybe by a switch. Anyways I also tested the distributor and it seems to be running ok as well.

Sounds like you have the wiring from the 2 sensors mixed up.
