which octane to use????
im running a b16 with ctr internals. what is the best octane to run to get the most power out of it???
is 110 octane too high??? i heard that high octane sometime make the motor run more slugish, so let me know whats up.

You want the lowest octane you can possibly get away with.
High octane burns slowly and doesn't atomize well, you're likely to lose power or do engine damage with racegas unless your engine is downright nasty and can't run on pump.

But I would like some clarification on why race gas would cause damage to your engine, it just does'nt seem logical at all to me. I can understand it losing power but not causing damage..........John

Burns slow, you run stock ignition timing which doesn't ignite the c16 early enough to get anything aaproaching a thorough burn, and you end up with still burning fuel-air coming out your ports when the exhaust valves open - just like having your timing too retarded. If that doesn't overheat the combustion chamber and shitcan your engine, I dunno what will.
