Can anyone tell me how to find out what is causing the check engine light in my 89 Civic 1.5 liter to come on?

 

look under the carpet in the pass. side floorboard then come back and tell us how many times the red light is flashing.

 

Do you know how to read codes from your ecu?

 

I figured it out. Had to find the ECU first. It appears that I have a bad fuel injector. It is a dual port system. Should I just replace the main and auxillary? Where can I go online to order them?

sorry if was vauge in my post. i should've explained it better. the dual point just has the two injectors. i'm not sure if auto parts stores will have those injectors? probably at a honda dealership parts dept.? i'll see if i can find some. i've got two old ones from my old motor that you could have if they are too much or too hard to find. hell they're small and light i'd probably ship them for free.

It just so happens that I got a tip from the Honda parts guy at the local dealership. It just so happens that a faulty Main Relay with throw a code 16 (faulty injector code). I replaced the main relay for half the price of a new fuel injector. These are more readily available as well.
