i wanted to ask all of you guys what kind of problem this could be..

When i am driving my 5th gen lude normally into 3rd it shifts fine, but when i am shifting fast it makes a grinding noise...i have tested it both ways when i am shifting fast and slow...

it sometimes also does it when the RPMS are around 7K when i am 2nd and going into 3rd theres the grinding noise??

what could be causing this?

 

I'm no tranny expert, but I'd guess your 3rd gear syncro is on it's way out.

 

Do a quick fluid change, mine would grind in 2nd and 3rd.

bad synchros take more time to mesh, putting alot of force into your shifting is bad for your transmission and you should try shifting with a different style and try changing your tranny fluid

 

i agree i believe it is the synchros same thing happened to me but in 2nd
