zc half shaft problem.
I SEARCHED!
I'm in the middle of bolting up my zc/si hybrid tranny and i'm putting in the half shaft. I've matched the half shaft to other photos and it appears to be the correct one.
Anyway.. I can't make it bolt to the block!
the holes on the half shaft are about 1/2 inch too high, I put a pry bar on the shaft to push it down and I was able to get one bolt in, but now it's putting a lot of pressure on the differential.
Any suggestions? HELP!!!

it does sound that way. it sure does look exact to every other zc half shaft picture though.
I dunno, i'm ready to grind it to make it fit

It might be an Integra half shaft. Also in the third picture you have there is an AT Stamped on the half shaft so maybe that might be the problem too. Because I know that automatic tranny's in general are larget then manual transmissions. Sorry I cant be much more help. Good luck man.

... and you feel free to the post the name of the dead beat that sold you that intermediate shaft as a ZC manual if he won't trade you for the right one at his cost!
dude, ditch the half shaft idea its WAY expensive. I just used ZC inner joints and installed them on my dx/si axles and it worked like a charm, another thing you can use is the B series inner joints they also do the trick, but if ur going to stick with the half shat...good luck finding one for cheap...

ZC/SI hybrid transmission with zc differential. Yes, the half shaft is from an automatic, i bought it from a HT member and didn't even look at it until i got ready to install it.
For this guys sake, I hope he lives far away.

That is correct sir.
But, i'm not so sure I have the wrong shaft. look at the pics I loaded... the shaft sits high. The other zc shafts i've had offered to me over the last week or so all look exactly like mine.

hey man why dont u just run SI/DX axles and swap in the ZC/Bseries inners?? i told u that a few days ago. If you do this, this will solve all your problems you are having now. Sure they will be unequal but u will solve the headache u have right now of trying to find a shaft that fits. I pushed 220+ to a ZC/si tranny and i ran "oem" axles with the zc/bseries inners and i had no problems the whole time i had the car

Actually, I could go to O'Rielly auto parts and they have a long shaft with integra sized ends on it. I know what I'm doing is a head ache. but the half of the reason I went with the zc transmission was the use of the intermediate shaft. I actually have it bolted up now (i had to cut the mount holes a little) and it's working fine. I'm going to get a 2nd shaft and see how it fits later. Thanks for the suggestion though.

hey guys i have an 89 si crx w/ a dohc zc in it and i honestly have been so confused for the past year and a half about the whole axle thing.... its actually not my car anymore because i sold it, but the dude who has it now is still having problems. if u could answer a few questions that would be great. How do i know if its a zc tranny or what kind of tranny it is? i tried to use the stock crx si axel but its a few inches too short and comes apart on the first turn u make. so we thought maybe we would need the intermediate shaft, my friend took his off his car and the dude tried to use it on his but i guess its got 28 splines on that one and wont fit. how many splines do the zc intermediate shafts have? and is it true that if the stock si axels fit then it isnt a zc tranny anyway? could someone plz clarify the whole thing about usin b series inners or whatever, if i do that what axel do i need? sorry for such a long post but i've been very frustrated!!
btw i did search thats really how i found this post.
