just wondering if anyone has retrofitted s2000 HID projectors/ballasts into there car. Ideally this is what i would like to do. Heard that the s2k & dc2 R use the same projectors?

need to know for sure, if the s2k projectors would work or dc2 R... would suck had i bought them w/o being able to do it.

supposedly the E 55 are pretty much bolt in , anyone have experice with retrofitting these? if so how does it look

a novice to this. any extra info/advice/pics, etc.. is greatly appreciated.

regardless what you may think, a system designed for use with halogens will not just bolt in another manufacturers "HID" system, unless that manufacturer has specifically geared application towards the vehicle in question.

 

Yes they both use the same projector. the jdm dc2r and the s2k projectors are the same. i just picked up some s2k headlights and ballasts for my girls car and i'll be doing the retrofit in a month. and for coaptain commando, that is why he referred to it as a retrofit..

 

thanx a lot ... what about the e 55? i'm sure it's not a "bolt in" application, but maybe "less hassle" ?

I don't think so, I have compare the projectors from a burnt set of DC2 R headlights to the s2k projectors, and they are not the same. Also, just comparing the size of the lens on the projector of my headlights to my friend's S2k, the s2k is bigger
