Need help please (V-AFC pros needed)!!!
Just completed the install... all seems well.
First question, on page 20 of the V-afc manual it states, "Never start the engine or turn ignition key OFF/ON while the V-AFC is in use. "
What? How is the V-AFC "in use" if your ignition is off? ...and when is your V-AFC not in use when ignition is on? This question really bothers me. Could someone enlighten me as to thier intent?
One more question,
I performed the initialization after installation, but did not modify any fuel, VTEC, or NE point settings... all still remain at "0". Does this mean that my car is still running exactly like stock? Is it safe to drive? Can I engage VTEC crossover? <The Vti and Vto read, "OFF"... The VTEC cont. reads, L>H 5800 rpm, and H>L 5400. (still default).
thanks... would really like to know before tomorrow, this way I don't have to bum a ride to work.

.....you should be fine.
Sounds like a typo on the vafc on and off ****... Mine comes on when i turn the key to acc, and turns off when i turn the car off...
vtec crossover? that's about right... I think stock is between 5600 and 5800 depending on a few variables... 5400 hi to low and 5600 low to hi sounds fine...

as long as you don't change any of the numbers it will still be the same as your stock set-up. just make sure you have it set to a 4 cyl. engine and not 6 cyl. thats is how mine was set and it scared the hell out of me casue vtec would not engage.
when the Vti and Vto read it is normal. if you put them up on one of your monitors it will say on when you are in VTEC( i thnk that is just for Vti)
L>H is the point when you engage vtec from like 2nd to 3rd gear. and H>L is like 3rd to 2nd
hope i helped and didn't say anything wrong
