PR3 OBD0 ECU.....mine fits fine..
Hey everyone,
I just picked up an PR3 OBD0 ECU for my B16 Swap in my 91 CRX SI. I've been reading various threads and everyone says that the PR3 OBD0 ECU is smaller, and doesn't bolt up the the factory location on the USDM CRX.
I bolted mine up last night and
1. It was the same size, physically as my stock ecu.
2. It bolted up in my stock location, all four bolts including the LED matched up with the existing hole in the cover.
Do I have the incorrect ECU?
I can post pics later to show you guys.
Thanks!
m

sorry for being so impatient, but I gotta pay the person I picked up the ecu from, don't want something that won't work with my car.
bump for an answer.
thanks again!

How does it run with that ecu? I have a pr3 for my b16 and it only revs to 7500 and vtec kicks at 4300. I think they screwed me and gave me an AT ecu
VeeTekCrx....
Are you throwing any codes? Some codes will cause premature rev cut.
If you want to chip your ecu to rev higher, and to set vtec to change over later, go to http://www.wnyhondas.com and PM "zerodaze." He'll burn you a turboedit chip, and set it to your mods.
He chipped my ecu (which used to cut out at 7800), and I run 12.5:1 compression. Fixed all my problems, took out my CEL. Car idles perfectly now, revs up to 8700, and the air/fuel mixture was almost PERFECT. VERY fair price also.
Good luck.

No, i have no cel's, the car runs and idles perfect, it just has the wrong rev and vtec point. How much does that guy make chips for. I'll socket it myself

I paid 15 bucks. He accepts paypal too.
I'd just have vtec cross over around 4500-5000, and rev cut at 8200.
You can email John (zerodaze) at johnk@netsos.com if you're interested.

If you wanna find out if you have a auto ecu take the cover off the ecu and on the small circut board that sits on top of everything there will be two letters either "AT" or "MT", at meaning automatic transmission or mt for manual transmission.

Yup, the hole on the ECU cover shouldn't align with the hole on the ECU. PR3 ECUs are made for RHD cars...
What's the small serial sticker say?

Okay so now some are saying yes it works some are saying it doesn't.
To give you an idea. I used the hasport subharness, i wired everything up last night, plugged in the ecu and started the car up. (my first swap and it started right up, unbelievable...
)
Anyways, it idled a little high, 2-2500, maybe I might have missed a vacuum line or by not having the down-pipe bolted to the exhaust. (missing parts)
Also, I could not drive it because I am still missing a stabilizer bar bushing for my new shift-linkage kit from Hasport and of course the exhaust was not connected.
I couldn't leave the engine running long last night because again it was like 10:30 at night, no exhaust and I live in a real **** neighborhood.
Regardless, my original question, the ecu matches exactly size and dimension and LED hole lines up with the stock crx si ecu cover.
So what is it fellas? Do I have the wrong ecu?
I'm at work right now so it's not easily available to get to the ECU, but if need be, i can get my brother to get the code off the side of the ecu and post it up here if it will help.
Thanks!

The holes on the LED do line up.
Here is the info on the sticker:
37820-PR3-003
410-119-698 then some space and AA
Whatcha think?
I'll have to wait to get home to open it up and see inside for the AT or MT label.
Can't have lil bro taking a screw driver to it.

My PR3 doesnt line up that well either when mounting.....the LED is located as to be seen on the left hand side of car under cover. When mounted on the right hand side, PR3 ECU is actually upside down and LED cannot be seen under cover unless new hole is drilled.

Drill a new hole.
Drill a new hole.
the led still was in the same spot? on every jdm obd0 ecu i have seen the led does not line up with the cover as the ecu gets flipped upside down to line up with the wiring. make sure you see pr3 labels on it, take off the outside cover and look for it inside on the processor or chips to make sure.

I'm going to do that tonight when I get home, I'll post the results later! Thank you everyone for your input!
take it easy!
