2 Weeks Until Barber
That's definitely a track I want to visit. Since you've been there before, how rough is that track on tire and brakes? Is the surface really grippy? What about in the wet?
Can't wait. Gotta pick up some 900# springs from OPM, get a hold of some Barber in car, and change the oil. Then I will be ready to be ITS cannon fodder.

Well, I'm in an ITC car that is easy on brakes everywhere, so I can't really say. My guess is that its OK on brakes. There's a couple of hard braking spots, but mostly it flows very well.
The surface is pristine and very easy on tires. I ran brand new Hoosiers there for 2 races last year and when I was done they still looked brand new. Haven't driven it in the wet... Yet.

The Barber track has a great wear surface. Good grip, low wear. At least the second was and hey they did the third re-pave last fall (three times in one year!). So to say they are picky about the track surface is an understatement. Lots of runoff and the place is like a country club. BTW there are ten ITC cars registered so you should have some other cars to play with in your class.
The event looks like it will be a biggy. I checked online registration and of today we have 225 entrants. 11 or 12 Formula Mazda guys are coming from Texas because they made the Barber event part of their points series. Pretty cool, yes? I predict 250 entrants so if you want a good field to race against this event is it. To register go to http://www.fingroup.com/scca and click on the Alabama region. Hope to see some of you guys there.
