Well, it looks like I have fell victim to a scam. I posted this topic in the classifies also. I understand that this topic doesn't really belong here, but I really want to get the word out. I posted a "Want Add" for a 96-97 Accord Greddy Lip a month ago. A non-HT member (at that time, but I don't know if he is now) replied to the post with an email. He offered his lip. I sent a personal check for $150. Communication was good between us until the check finally cleared. Since then he has not replied to any of my emails. I need help from you Kansas Tuners. Yeah...thanks, I usually pay with paypal, but he didn't have one. Learned my lesson...

 

Damn that totally sucks dude...I know now not to deal with Kansas Tuners! I'm just playing! Good luck on getting that money back. I wish there was something I could do. And no I will not pay you $150...haha!

if its a personal check, i'm sure your bank has some sort of fraud protection that you can report it to them...also TX aint that far from KS, drive up there with some big friends and just take the lip off his car when he comes home....

Well, it looks like I am a victim of "Identity Theft". When I put a want add for the lip, somebody emailed me that they had it. At the same time, this person was buying an auction item from the person in Kansas. He told me to send a check to the address in Kansas. I sent a letter with the check, explaining it was for the Greddy Lip. That person got confused and emailed the scammer. The scammer told them that he got his mail confused. So unknowing of any of this crap, the seller in Kansas deposited the check. So basically...I paid for the scammers auction. And to make matters worse...they were for KMART CARDS!!! WHAT THE ****.... So the person in Kansas is innocent, and is helping me track the scammer down. Here' s what I know so far.

Dude I grew up in Olathe and I can totally see this happening. A whole bunch of crooked rich kids...or wanna be rich kids (that's why I moved to Lincoln). I can try to track down the local cops number for you if you want. I ain't gonna go bangin on doors for ya though, get myself shot doing stuff like that.
