Default Could this be bearings ???

Two days ago I started to notice a noise comming from the right front wheel of the car. It sounds like a slight rubbing and is not constant its intermittent. The weird thing is that it starts after about five minutes of driving. Its pretty noticable and I know its not the brakes because its there even when just coasting along.
Any idea what I should be looking for here when I jack her up???

thanks in advance

1. cv joints/boots
2. suspension bushings/joints

it could be a bearing, but check those first. heck it could even just be a loose piece of plastic from underneath the car rubbing the tire (if it gets caught in the wind at speed).

jack it up and shake the wheel, see if there is any play.

So I talked to a few mechanics I know and they said it was probably not the wheel bearing from the sound of it. Apparantely a worn out bearing is a constant noise. This noise increases and decreases in frequency depending on how fast u going. I checked and there is nothing touching the wheel, like plastic.

did you jack it up and check it yet. they can't always diagnose something
by the way it sounds.

does it get louder when you're turning?

make sure all of your lugnuts are tightened all the way. This happened to me before, i brought to a shop and they said it was the bearings.

And then i take a closer look at everything and it was just the lugnuts not tightened all the way ..They were gonna charge me an arm and a leg for the bearings!

Ya the lugs are as far as they can go....

I did check if the wheel gives when it was jacked up, it doesnt. Actually now that I think bout it, it does get a bit louder when turning...
