Default Looking for new transmission

I was wondering what my options are for acquiring a new 5spd manual transmission for my 92 DX Civic?

What years are swappable and how much are transmissions going for right now?

Thanks

The best transmission you can get for your DX is a D16Y8 transmission. These transmissions come 1996-2000 Honda Civic EX. It has a stronger shift fork. Another good one is the 1992-1995 Honda Civic Ex/Si D16Z6 transmission. Both the D16Z6 and D16Y8 have identical gear ratios, only differece again, is the shift forks.

I've heard the Si D16Z6 transmission has a lower 5th gear. But, for the most part, same transmission.

If I were to swap a transmission out, which I'm planning on doing, I would get the D16Y8 transmission since most of them have lower miles and the stronger forks. You can find these on the Classifieds section ranging from $100-$300.
