First racecar pics
This started on another thread with Knestis showing a pic of his first race car. Rather than steal that thread, I thought I'd start a fresh one.
My first autocross was in a '62 Corvair somewhere in Summer 1980 during high school. Luckily pics don't exist.
My first track driven car was the below rented Ex-Renault Cup Encore in ITC in July 1988. Very humble beginnings. The pic was taken on Polaroid the night before I left for the track so the quality is poor. Humble beginnings back long before lapping days and HDPEs ever existed. The pic was taken before I cleaned the car up and put on my wood grained numbers.

My first racecar I owned and also built was the below ITA Corvair. This pic is from Mid-Ohio 1994 and is special because the blue and yellow ITA CRX behind me is my wife in the second racecar I owned and built. This is the one and only race where we ran against each other and the only part of a lap that we ran together. After qualifying behind her with carb trouble, it was probably the cleanest pass I ever made as I knew that if I crowded her or heaven forbid made contact with her, I would hear about it forever plus have to fix both cars. Soon afterward we sold both mid-pack cars and built one much better front runner ITA CRX.
