Brakes and Suspension suggestions
I just picked up a 94 5spd as a daily driver which has delivered a comfortable ride and great gas mileage. The only thing is that I drive on roads where 80mph is the average and the stopping/handling of the Accord doesn't seem sufficient enough for highspeed evasive maneuvers.
This has lead me to think of upgrades. I have already made a tire choice for my stock steelies but I am a bit lost on the best suspension for the task. I'm not looking for a slammed ride that will carve up Laguna Seca but I do want something that will be slightly stiffer than stock and give me a more confident ride when cruising at 80. It looks like the ground level upgrade are the Tokiko HPs. I would get them right now but I had a set of those on my AE86 and they were extremely stiff. Like pop your kidney out of place stiff. Maybe it's because it is a lighter car or maybe I'm just sensitive but I was wondering if there was a better choice. I once rode in a mazda p5 with the mp3 suspension and that was smooth as butter with no hard jarring and amazing handling. Is there anything like that for the Accord? I'm sure some of the adjustables would be suited to the task after some experimentation but I'm hoping there is a single setting strut for the car(also because the adjustables are so f'ing expensive). So tell me, are the HPs softer in this application or should I be looking for something else? I also plan on keeping the stock springs and obviously ride height. Also tell me if I am crazy and I NEED a certain kit with full coil-overs/adjustables etc. I'd like to hear all opinions. Just keep in mind this is only a daily driver.
Now as far as brake upgrades go I have decided on just some brembo performance slotted discs up front with matching brembo pads. Now the rear drums are something else. Brembo does offer a drum solution but I want to know if it'd be worth it. They are fairly expensive and I just have a hard time believing, with drums, there is a big difference. Should I just go OEM for the rear? Should I get the Brembos? If I do get Brembos, do any of you have a pad reccomendation? I can't seem to find Brembo pads for the drums. I'm doing the rear too because they are starting to squeak on me.
Sorry if the post is too wordy and I appreciate any help/ideas you can give me.

i am at the moment participating in another thread where another young man is deciding on the suspension path to take, and so far, according to him he is probably gonna go with a set of H&R springs ($150), and some Koni adjustables giving him more flexibility when it comes to ride stiffness, then as far as brakes go, i just posted in another forum where a gentleman changed his pads and realized that they were eating up the rotors considerably because of the fact that they are high performance pads, so think about it before you dive in, you might have to change the rotors along with the pads for better braking...
Here is a really good 'upgrade' for brakes, it is the conversion for the legend calipers and have heard people stand by the awesome improvement.

as far as suspension here is a great write up that a few members embarked in:

Thanks for the suggestions so far especially mike813. Thats exactly the suggestion I was looking for.
I poured over the whole thread that is stickied at the top which was linked by VRDrvr a few days ago. I got a lot of info on options but not real opinions on ride etc. It seemed that the suspension write up there was more geared towards max performance(for money).
In the orginal post I mentioned that I will be getting the discs as well to match the pads and as far as the rear conversion, I save my headaches for the 86. I want to do minimal wrenching on this car.
Has anyone had experience with the brembo drums? I just want to know if there is a noticed improvement or else I'll just go OEM there.
Thanks

After researching a number of forums, I've decided to do the following for my 95 Accord EX 4-dr:
H&R OE springs
Koni Yellows
Brembo slotted rotors on front
AEM brake pads on front
All parts to be installed very soon. Rear discs will remain OEM, no plan to upgrade them.
I already have an AEM CAI installed. Just installed Accel plugs wires. The previous wires were original with 113k miles on them. PIAA Extreme bulbs in every place possible.
The next thing will be 17" wheels and 215/45/17 tires. I haven't decided on these yet. I'm eyeing FAST brand wheels, no decision on tires yet.
That's all I plan on doing for the near future. My goal is to improve ride and braking. The Konis will be set to near softest ride setting. My car is a daily driver shuttling three kids to daycare and school as well as the work commute.

Absolutely and inadvertently left out that I had also ordered Goodridge lines from Tire Rack. Everything is in the trunk. Now it's time to find a shop that I can trust to install everything nice nice...

Robot Sonic is what? ---> stupid, lol, yea man, good luck with your purchases man, make sure if you start to mod out your car you buy an alarm, ive been reading like 100 different threads how these dummies dont arm their cars with any kind of alarm or loc...good luck
Have you considered TOKICO Illumina w/springs. I think these are H & R springs that are bundled with the adjustable shocks. So this might fit your requirement of slightly stiffer than stock but I know it will lower your car about an 1.25 " and you mentioned that you wanted to keep the height the same but if handling is your concern then lowering it a little bit will definitely help its emergency handling.
I'm considering this for my 93 accord LX with 17" 5Zigen MK-6 and falken 512 215/45. So I would like to know what route you will take and what other options others might suggest.
Also depending on how many miles your car has right now, replacing the shocks but not the springs might put too much stress on your shocks since the stock springs are probably worn out.
