Default Need new Tranny?

I have a 91 Accord LX automatic. My green S light had been blinkin for a while and my speedometer wasnt working...Now the S light stays on and my car will not change gears. Its happened b4 but then the light went off and the car rode fine...Now its on again and will not go off...I can start from D4 but car drags so I have to start at D1 and change the gears like a straight drive almost...You guys have any suggestions. I dont think I need a new tranny since it happen b4 and then started working fine....HELP PLEASE.

when something blinks usually its a trouble code... get it checked and report back the problem or code...

You can jumper the BLUE 2 pin connector and get the trans code via the flashing light. Then you can replace the speed sensor in the top of the differential.

OK......I unhooked the battery for about an hour. Now the car is runnin fine..I guess it is a sensor that needs to be fixed. The s light is blinkin again but the car is changing gears as normal....I guess when I unhooked the battery it reset the sensor....Thanx

I did the same thing on my buddys accord and got the same result, so i also assume i need a new speed sensor, but i called the local honda dealership on the price of the AT control unit and it was over 500 dollars, is there anywhere, if thats what i end up needing, that i can find this part cheaper, thx!! (will a junkyard part work?)
