what's up? i'm a straight newb to this forum. got a 90 crx... white.. stick. i traded an eagle talon (yes... awd turbo) for a crx. i needed a commuter car and the talon had a crack in the radiator. i got this car when it had 225k on the odometer... now it has like 284k on it. i drive like 100 miles a day. mostly freeway unless i get stuck in the dublin grade on 580fwy. 8 lanes into 4 lanes with truckers merging in too. anyways... didn't mean to go on and on, but i was wondering... what's the point with ppl vandalizing or ripping off the plastic door panel part on a crx? i parked my car at night and the next's morning i lose that panel. i've seen some other crx have the same thing done to them. is it just random vandalism?

 

most likely people who need the piece..and see a free way of getting it..sucks i was missing alot of moldings on my car as well when i purchased it

 

yeah i was guessing that. just that i've seen it on alot of crx around the city lately. thought maybe it was kids going around doing stupid stuff. the irritating thing is on the freeway i can hear that hissing noise when i'm driving on the fwy. blah!

 

i had thiefts rip mine off and break the little screws that hold my window railing to my door. then they just pulled the window back and got in my car. stoll abunch of **** and left me with a broken window that wont fit now a broken pillar cover. i was pissed. then about a month later. it happened again on the other side. so now i have 2 missing pillars and 2 broken windows. when i get around to fixing it im bondo'ing those things to the ******* car. nobodys getting them off.

Why! Thats a nice ride. radiators are cheap....a bill or so
Dont get me wrong, Honda's are reliable but with that much mileage nothing really is...

true. that person probably got the better deal off of it then i did. i only bought the talon for 1800 so i thought it was a fair value swap. in two years... i haven't done any major maintenance to the crx, but i'm sure it's gonna catch up with me eventually. so i'm going to have to decide. fix it up or give it up? it did more than i expected from a commuter car standpoint. i couldn't imagine sitting in traffic with that turbo and climbing those hills everyday with awd turbo. gas is expensive as it is.

funny thing is... my car was broken into after that incident, but they pry the passenger side window instead of using that missing panel side. figured it was a bum cuz they took my loose change, adidas visors, nike air max and dj headphone. oh well...

Well you have it easy, my car was stripped to nothing after the sunday festivities that I went through when theives stole my car at work

But welcome to the Honda life...

 

that sux pretty bad. if i did catch that person stealing my stuff. i would just break his arms and leg (one so that he can hobble home) and slap him a few tmes with a trout. get his address and tell him... "hey bud... i know where u live now. so just go home and turn ur life around. or i'll just have to for u..." :D with a smile of course.

 

theves take those off because it gives them a direct route to the door lock.

 

so how about rigging a "hot" wire to the panel and connected to a fuse. once fuse is pulled out. then it's live and when they try to pull on it. it'll shock them. :D sounds a little dangerous though.
