DPFI to MPFI using an Si harness?
dealing with a dx hatch, converting to MPFI using the dx ecu harness and si motor harness:
most of the threads i found dealt with using the existing dpfi harness. however, the person i am helping has already purchased an Si harness, so i would like to use that instead. the only difference that i can see is that the dx shell is missing the 6 pin connector going to the ECU from the engine bay. the other two larger connectors are the same (i'm talking about the ones by the shocktower). so, i'm assuming i just need to run 6 wires from the ecu? will i have to swap any other pins at the ecu?
thankyou

I think the pins won't match up right. If you were to use the Si engine harness to the shock tower and then use a DX engine-ECU harness they won't match upright. Plus doesn't the DX engine harness on the passenger side shock tower and the Si located somewhere else in the engine bay, so the wires wouldn't be right lengths. (not totally positive on the Si location).
If you are going to use the SI harness use the complete Si harness.
Otherwise, use the DX harness and modify from DPFI to MPFI using the Si harness.
Hope that helps.

Ive only done it with the dx harness...i tried to use the si harness thinking it would be easier, but in the end is just more hassle....If youve got the dx harness, use it and just use the si harness for the injector clips, distributor clips, resistor box clips and extra wiring.
its 10x harder just trying to use a SI harness. for one, some pins that go on drivers side on DX are on the pass side on the SI and vice versa. i was going to do that also but i was going to do alot more rewiring then just disecting the DX one, so i think u should pass on that idea....

he can sell it to someone that needs a new harness. I always tell people to use the harness that comes in the car. It saves headaches atleast IMO.
