h22 vs. gsr

What swap would be better in a civic 92-95 h22 or gsr

thats a really broad question..what will you be doing with the engine(car) and what do you plan on doing to it???

I think H22, u can get them for cheap. but it depends on what you want to do and how much ur willing to spend

i agree on the h22 if u are going to be drag racing. but its not going to be cheaper than the gsr by the time it is in the car and running. while the h22 will be faster u will probably have more problems with it, such as braking axles. gsr will give u better handling characteristics if thats what ur after (its lighter).

Explain why it will not be good for road racing/auto-x? Do not say the extra weight, that is BS.

On the avg h22a swap, I will give you that. But I have put together a H22a swap for $3200, that is everything. It was done right with no short cuts.

I have done a H22a swap with STOCK 90-93 teg axles that launches at the track with no problems and no binds.

Not with the stock civic spring, you are going to upgrade the suspension either way (b-series or H-series), so when you do, use springs that are more for the extra weight in the front.

The swap choice is up to you. Either swap will make you happy and be fast. Both swaps are great swaps, but the H-series, you have to do a bit more for it. It is nothing hard thou.
