Suspension prices PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!
i have a 98 EK hatchback and right now my car is in stock suspension. what i want to do is drop the car pretty low but i just need this drop to last for aabout 3 months cause ill then be buying my TIEN Ss suspension so thats why im looking for something cheap just for now so could you guys tell me what price im looking to spend on some ok coilovers all i need to do is lower my car thanks.
so my delima is that my parents say that they will buy me my suspension when they sell one of my moms cars. there not gonna be doing that untli in about 3 months so for the wait all i want to do is just lower the car
if you just want to lower your car you could just buy some 50 dollar springs, you dont need coilovers if you just want the look. First you need to decide how serious you want to get with the car, like if you want to track it, or just lower it.
Go to a junkyard and pick you up some Si struts you only need the front ones cause the rear are the same on all 96-00 civics. Cut the foam bushing on the rod in half then get some used drop springs or cut yours if your gonna be switching them out in a couple of months.

Like previously said, if your getting a Tein kit in 3 months don't get coilovers, it would be a waste of money (besides most sleeve style coilovers ride like **** anyway). Buy some cheap drop springs or just cut your current springs. Why spend the time and money now to get that lowered look when you will have a phatty suspension in a few months. Some of the best things in life are worth waiting for.
i say find somebody that knows what they are doing and get them to cut your springs for you. i bet u can get it done for less that $100. if u buy springs online its going to be $250 or more with labor.
so out of lower springs and coilovers just for the TEMP drop i should go with the springs but what i dont understand is that i know that coilovers are adjustable but i want my springs too lower the car pretty well not just a little so how do going on about buying springs do...do they just lower your car on size or adjustable too thnks

what?
what?
Sounds to me like you want to slam the **** out of your car. If I can remember right, I don't think the tien's will let you do that. There should be a finger or two gap after you put them on. Correct me if I'm wrong people.

I believe Sprint makes some springs that drop the car like 3".

My advice..
Quit whining.. Get a job, support yourself on some things...
After you get your 1st 2 paychecks (1 month max), buy your own set of TEIN Super Street Coilovers.
Problem solved.

first off i have a job. second if my parents are willing to buy my suspension then why not but basiclly i want a pretty good drop. not slammed because i dont want my car to be always scrapping on everything so what is a good size drop that well have my car looking more aggresive but still not slammed
Patience is a virtue. I remember when I would have to save for a couple of months to buy one part. IMO just cut your springs until you get your Tiens and put the money towards a swap or turbo kit. Maybe buy some other suspensioin stuff like tie bars or tower bars. You could buy some coilovers, but sometimes it's a pain to sell them later. And you never get want you think they are worth. Even if you only used it once, it's still a used part.
im just getting sick of riding stock height. so getting my springs cut...how much is that going to cost me and is it easier too do it myself or should i just get a shop to do it. i have access too basic tools so if its easier for me to do it could you guys let me know how. thanks

Ride it for 3 months.
Parents buy you new coilover.
Take out stock suspension.
Put on the new toy.

couldnt have said it better myself, it costs $0 if you have all the tools, i have done it to many cars, CAMBER IS NOT AFFECTED more than lowering springs, your car is still being lowered the same amount...i guess some people think that your suspension has a brain and can tell the difference between cut springs and lowering springs..they are the same thing, except one of the two either A. has less coils and/or lower spring rate or B. has more coils and/or higher spring rate
for the flamers...flame on

doode here are 5 TIPS.....
1. Patience is a virtue
2. Save your money and be PATIENT
3. No need to do TWICE the work and the possibilty of mesisng up something along the way.
4. If you lower your ride, your parents might just say, well your car is already lowered no need to buy you the TEIN's anymore.
5. You're stuck, because you're not listening to us. Good luck.
