Default Worm clamp holding cat shields together, ok?

Hey guys its been a while i know, but i just hit a snag with my crappy 97 civic where the top shield of the cat is lose on one side and rattling all over. My question is you think a standard worm clamp just clamped around the whole cat will hold the shields together for a while until I save up for a new cat?

I just figure a worm clamp is metal, so it should hold right? its nice and tight around it..

yup, thatll work fine. Unless you have a MIG welder handy to tac it back on, that is prolly the best you can do.
