How can one tell if the engine is a type r jdm?
I am thinking about about buying a car with an alleged type r jdm motor in it. How do I know its a realy type r motor since the jdm motors done use number? How do I know its not a GSR motor. It has vtec I test drove the car.

Cosmetically the easy way to tell is the intake manifold. I dont have any pics on this computer right now but hit up Hmotorsonline.com check out the pics of the motors see if you can remeber what it looked like under the hood.
yes thank you there are obvious visual difference in the intake manifold.

i think the throttle body is in a difference position as well because of the different design of the intake manifold. is this true?
