New T1R exhaust - shorter tip?
i finally got my exhaust yesterday and it looked a lil sttange to me. in all the other pics ive seen the tip loooks alot longer. it seems that i have a shorter tip. does t1r make 2 different exhaust tip lenghts. mine seems very short.
I know what you mean...my tip seems smaller than some of the others too. The old model must have had a longer tip before they redesigned it.
Pics? Actually, will you snap some pics of the entire setup and the testpipe and catback flanges etc. and list where you purchased it if possible before install??
This could really help the general public to see the new model in its entirety and settle some of the questions and concerns for the record.
I would do this, but mine is installed...

97 and below rear bumpers make any exhaust appear to stick out more. With the 98+ it looks nice as show above by Chris93Si...

The new design does have a shorter tip... I have the older design and the new ones at AJ Racing are shorter than mine is.
oh, and the new one sounds good too... My buddy has one on a B18C powered EG and it sounds nice.

If you could snap some pics of the flanges that would be a HUGE help. I've heard conflicting reports on whether this new batch has the flanges that taper down to bolt up to stock axlebacks and/or stock cats or if they are true 2.5" (outside diameter) systems. (they should have an ID of close to 2.35")
Many thanks.

The actual "catback" exhaust has a 2.5" ID. But if you buy the separate peices, they are 63mm so that they can bolt up to the stock exhaust components.

best sounding exhaust on the market. got mine 2 weeks ago and its so worth it. no bottlenecks got the shorter tip though. very nice looking too
Did the T1R catback exhaust system include all the gaskets, nuts and bolts? My system just came in and I don't have anything exhaust the exhaust???
Talk about great service! After contacting AJ Racing about the missing accessories, Ben contacted me the next day and said the parts have been shipped out.
We need more shops like this.

It started out just like the rest, but a weekend at the track heat treated the rest of the Ti tip and it turned blue.
