I'm doing it now as we speak.....................just got EGT mount and oil pan welded, intercooler installed...........it is fun........really makes you understand how your car works.
I tried to do it with a friend, and it worked . . . just not very well. We messed up the vacuum lines, but once we got it straightened out with help from another buddy of ours, it ran like a champ.
My point is: you should at least try to do it yourself, but make sure you've got someone looking over your shoulder to make sure you don't mess anything up too bad.

do it. I did my FMAX and it came out great. Gonna have to redo it cause the turbo is leaking oil. The turbo has to come out tomorrow which means most of the install. Damn, i'm not looking forward to it. Its cold outside.
Very easy job, especially if you have access to a lift. Thanks to all the guys on the board for help on my install especially turbointeg95, he was a big help. The oil return line is probably the hardest thing about the job, if you cant weld just get someone else to do it for you. Take it to a shop.
Just do it...just take your time...if u are not sure about something, just ask bro...i didnt know anything about it but i tried and it was fine..you will not learn until u try...Good luck
wow thanks a lot for teh replys guys. See none of my freinds are into cars like me so my help will be minimal unless i find someone locally who will be willing to help.

I've done two for/with my friends:
1.) '94 GSR DRAG III kit ~ outcome: 261whp/190ft.lb @ 6psi
2.) '95 Dodge Avenger Hahn Stage I kit ~ outcome: FMIC install in progress.
The Avenger is currently running non-IC'd at 5psi.. feels great. Alot better than stock! Boost arrives around 2500rpm.
Definitely do the turbo install yourself. Just some patience, common sense, and decent tools.

Me and a friend installed my turbo kit. It took us roughly 1 day...the only thing is i had to go to a shop to get my downpipe and flexpipe welded. Take your time and make sure you have the right parts and they all fit each other. Good Luck
I don't have my turbo yet, but I'll be doing the install by myself when I get it. As long as you think ahead and try to do everything in your head before you're gonna be fine. That's only if you solve some problems before, and are fairly confident that your mental walkthrough will be similar to the real thing. Just don't assume it'll be done in a couple of hours
