type r head w/ rev valves, notice how there is a full circle around the head, that edge is really sharp and is there is a full circle instead on a gsr head that area above and below the valve is totally flush with the head instead of being inset like the type r shown so in theory the less edge there is the less chance of a hotspot occuring which in some cases causes detonation. if you were to totally redo a gsr head imho the gsr head would be my choice. better angle of entry for air and just a better design to work with compared to a type r, a lot of people on here might not think so but remember thats just my opinon don't flame, its just honest forward FIRSTHAND advice.

its a give or take thing, gsr has higher comp which could cause detonation but it has less hotspot percentage which could lower the chace of detonation. motors suck we all shoud pedal around and get in shape instead
