Default '96 - '00 Civic CAI Cold Air Intake question

Hey hey!
I just slapped on a cold air intake on my civic('99).
Once installed, I looked at it and though "how the crap can that thing breathe?" Is it not encased in plastic all around? I mean, I had to pull some wheel well back to put it in. Should I take any steps to allowing more air-flow? And what concerns should I take to driving in the wet?

you shouldn't have problems with the way it is. In the winter don't be goin thru deep puddle to where your filter can get submerged in water also get an aem bypass valve just in case something does happen on a rainy day! They are pretty cheap and u can easily find one on ebay.
