Default pepboys axle? worth it?

ok I need an axle befor I do my engine swap,
my current axle is a noise maker.. so if I'm pulling the motor i'm going to want to swap it out anyways.

Will the pepboys axle be ok?
its 64.99, not a bad price.. autozone is cheaper at 49.99, but they'd have to special order.. which would tkae weeks..

i've gotten two locally already.. both turned out to be ****...
but if I can find a good one locally i'll go with that.

just wanted to kno if the pepboys one will be kooo or not.
so lmk thnx

I bought pepboys axles and they came with a gaurentee so now i get em for life, not a bad deal. theyre not the greatest quality but not bad for a stock replacement either. but if you do get the warrenty just don't tell them your car is lowered

I got mine from Autozone...The axles may be the same and also lifetime warranty, but autozone keeps you name in their computer, that way you don't have to keep the reciept, unlike pepboys, kragen and etc...you have to show the reciepts to get your new axles...

WOW! Axles are around 80$ where I live, and its only
a two year warranty! And thats only a one time deal.

I would get the one with the lifetime waranty, even if
it is more money. Honda cv joints always go to **** if
you drive much. I think its the week link to the car.
It seems like every honda my family has owned, has
needed a new cv joint at one point.

Lifetime warranties are great!

thanks for the input guys,
the pepboys ones sound good.

autozone is cheaper, and its good that they keep you in their computer, but i'm not paying for shipping, or waiting weeks to recieve my axle..

oh and elwood,
every frontdrive car has its cv boots go out at one point. its a flappy piece of rubber that bends around and around and around hundreds of thousands of times aday.. eventually its gona wear out.

They probably know they are going to need them in stock.

I wouldn't want to replace my axle 3 times in 2 years, but hell, it's better than buying 3 axles.

The first comment was a joke. I buy from Autozone, Kragen, and Pep Boys all the time and I have never had a problem. In fact I'm getting parts from them later today. I have never had to use the warranties.
In the second comment I was just stating that I wouldn't want to replace my axle 3 times and that I would rather have the lifetime warranty than go to the junkyard or Honda.
Next time I'll remember to put this guy in:

autozone offers performance axles for a little extra dough and still have a life time warranty, and i have used both pepboys and autozone axles and the autozone ones always lasted me longer

You guys must have different pep-boys in your areas cause all the ones I've ever been to just plain suck. I don't think they've ever given me the right part the first time.

Back on topic, and another rant is that their axles blow fat donkey *****. 3 axles in a month (mostly stock gsr). Yeah they have a lifetime warranty, but how the hell is it worth a **** if you're spending half your time replacing axles and having the car towed. bap\geon (express import auto parts) axles I've had in the car have lasted over a year now with no clicks whatsoever.

I'll go to the dealer and get shafted with their prices before I ever buy anything other than an air freshner from pep girls.

that sounds more like a wheel bearing and less like an axle...

yeah, from what I read, wheel bearings do sound kinda like that,
but they make noise all the time, not just on sharp turns,
also my wheel is set in there solid,
busted wheel bearing and it'd be all wobbly n stuff..
