Default anyone with ONE jl12w6 wired to an amp?????

my friend has one and doesn't really have specs on it.... i looked up the manual on jl's website and wanted to make sure how to wire it for one sub...

it is only stable at 12ohm or 3ohm??? isn't that kind of hard to find an amp that runs @ that load and is stable?

any amp that's worth a you-know-what should be ok with 3 ohm mono - keep in mind that is the nominal impedance of the driver - not of the driver plus enclosure!

specs are listed on JL's site under the discontinued section.

The sub can be wired for 12ohms or 3ohms, 3 is better, amps may or may not be stable at 3ohms, most 2ch amps are not stable at under 4ohms in there bridged mono modes , but most mono amps are, some as low as 1ohm.

The best amp to get for a sub is a mono sub amp,[there are lots] you are better off over powered then under powered

hope this helps 94
