Default guages?

well the obvious is i want to add in an air/fuel guage... as well as an oil pressure guage... not sure what other guages i want that are normal...

one guage that i would like to add though that most likely isnt civic specific is a tire pressure guage... not sure how you would go about hooking this up... i want to monitor the tire pressure in all four tires...

i have a 98 civic ex 2dr coupe 5spd...

why not?
i figured it would be useful for monitoring the pressure from inside the car
my friends car has it and its neat... his is a digital display... and it just shows four tires with a number next to it... and thats the pressure...
from looking at the wheel, you cant see anything that tells the information... so im not sure how they do it and get it communicating...

:D

besides that im still thinking of other useful guages for my car

Is he driving a hummer? hummers are the only car I personally know of that you can view and adjust youre tire pressure at any riven time. On a street car daily driven this would be useless information.

it would be a WHOLE lot cheaper to buy a 2 dollar pressure gauge. stop being so lazy and check it from the outside

no, he cant adjust it or anything, just view what the pressure is... so he knows if he needs to add air at any time or not...

i guess it would be kinda useless... was just an idea i had...

im just trying to gather ideas for guages before i go out and start getting everything... was thinking that would be one of the guages... guess ill look for something else to fill its spot...

thanks though

mods can lock or delete this thread... it has absolutely no place here... but thanks anyway

I think you got dumped on pretty hard. Instead of flames, perhaps you would want some information. I will do my uninformed best.

I am not familiar with the operation of any systems that do this so I am speculating.

You would need air pressure sensors, a transmitter of some sort, and slip rings integrated into the wheels in order to collect the information and transmit it to the display. I don't think that this is something that most of us would be able to put together ourselves, you will need to find wheels that can do the job. I can't imagine they would be cheap.

To the flamers:

With that said, I personally don't see any use for that information inside the vehicle while the vehicle is operation unless you really beat on your tires. But, lots of people do things that serve no purpose other than "it's cool" or "it looks cool." We each have our own opinion of what is cool. So lay off.

EDIT: correct a typo.

i wasnt really saying thats what i was gonna do... i dont mind the flames cause they do make points... it was just an idea i had... people thought it was a dumb idea... and served no purpose... so no problem... it was a bad idea...

i'm still up for other ideas for guages or unique guages that 'would' serve a purpose

mct121, thanks for the info... i already have wheels so i'm not really gonna invest any money into all that... it would be a waste...

ill think of something else...

You are welcome for the info, what it is worth. But I have a comment...

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by imk &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">i dont mind the flames cause they do make points... it was just an idea i had... people thought it was a dumb idea... and served no purpose... so no problem... it was a bad idea...</TD></TR></TABLE>

Hey man, it is your decision. It think it is kind of sad if you think it is a bad idea just because some other people don't like it. I think it is a bad idea to paint a car orange, does that mean that you should not paint your car orange? Why should you care about my color preference, it is your car!!!

The flames don't make points, they are flames. Flames are nothing more than rude posts that degrade anothers opinion. If the flamers wanted to post their opinion then they could have without being rude about it.

I see more and more of this in the EG+ forum all the time, I think I am going to stop reading here. Seems like more people here are self righteous than are interesting in giving good information.

Again, imk, it is your decision, your opinion, and it is a valid one.
