Default tach and cruise control on strike !

if anybody has experienced this please lend me a helping hand. The tach and cruise control on my 93 si just decided to quit working out of the blue. I've since learned to listen for vtec and redline (it sux i know). Went through the electircal schematics and checked the tach test connector. no luck. help my engine communicate with me again...

Borrow a VSS from someone else, any hydro trans VSS should work I believe.

the vss has nothing to do with tach signal although the cruise control does look for the vss to determine vehicle speed along with tach signal to verify engine speed. no tach no cruise. you dont by chance have any tach driven accessories like a shift light, aftermarket tach or rpm switch hooked up do you
