Default where to buy an f22b

i have been looking aruond and searched all over, but I cant figure out where a good place to get a replacement motor for my h23 would be... Now, I am going to put in an f22b for a number of reasons. So, motor is decided upon, and I dont need 2 preludes with h22a's in them... This is an auto daily driver i picked up... If you guys knwo of any sites or places i could find one that would be great... (office space voice) thanks..

Have you tried any local junkyards? When I had my 91' Accord, I picked up a low mileage f22a6 for around $350. I just took a quick look on ebay and it looks like there are quite a few on there also. F22's are pretty common, so it shouldn't be too hard. Good luck.

I think he wants the JDM F22B motor. You know, the one with that is pretty much the samething as the USDM H23.

Just out out of curiousty what are your reasons? Just because you dont want another h22 and because you want the toruqe for a daily driver or because of some other reason ?

ahhhh, I figured he was talking about the SOHC f22b's from the 94-97 Accords. In the back of my mind, I was thinking what a disgrace it would be to replace an h23 with an f22, but I guess being the JDM f22b makes it OK.

Well, I was going for the JDM F22B because I need a new motor.. Im not sure whats wrong with this one in it yet, but i will know soon enough.. I plan on building a monster using my old h23's... But for right now, I am just looking to replace it, the f22b is cheaper, less mileage... The h23 in there now may be fine, but with 225k+ on the original motor, I would rather swap it with a newer one.. I suspect it locked up from no oil as the girl i bought it from said she put oil in it, but she thought it was too late... The top end looks fine, but it could be anythign from a spun bearing to rods to pistons.. So, I was opting for the much better balanced crank of the f22b.. The lower mileage.. Its also a car for my sister if she wants it, so thats a big issue to her... will it run?...

Also, i seriously doubt I am going to find a low mileage h23... and if I cant find one, then it would be worht it to just break open the one I got right? I am sure it will be popped open, but i need this car fixed by mid july, and I still have to paint it... What we do for family eh?

Now, i want torqueness with the auto!! for daily driving, i dont wanna spend the money on the h22.. its overrated... I say that owning one.. I love vtec, dont get me wrong, but i miss the torque feeling and I realize it isnt worth the $$ to swap it in there knowing my sister wont use, appreciate it, and its also an auto.. why not think ahead.. if it someday comes bakc to me or she says no.. Not such a bad investment.. i may turbo it.. And I woudl rather turbo a non-vtec motor... ...

I guess I need to get started on my h23vtec.. I have the h22 head, and now I have 2 h23 bottom ends.. My as well sometime in the future... But, I am waiting on captain spock's conclusion about compression... Before i build...

Well I am currently running a JDM F22B, its a decent motor and most H23 parts bolt right up to it, except the water pump and something else. At the moment I am having a timing issue with it because the cam gears are advanced to much. Good luck with it though, and use your H23 ECU with the motor.

Don't forget to wire up a KS if you use the P14...

HP is the same for both...only difference is tq...

H23A1 - 160hp & 156ft/lbs
F22B - 160hp & 148ft/lbs

they can usually be had for about half the cost of an H23A1...
