87 CRX?
What does the gauge cluster of an 87 CRX look like? I found one where i work and I want it. No one has driven it in quite awhile and has a little rust. The motor was pulled and is sitting in the back of the car. The wierd part tho, is that is has and actual carb and air cleaner on top of the engine like the one on Pimp My Ride. Would it be worth it to take it for free? I said that I wanted it and my boss said that if I mow the big back yard one time, I could have it. Is it worth it?
http://www.redpepperracing.com can give you more deatails and directions on what to do with it, they specialize in 1st gen CRXs and 3rd gen Civics. Have fun!

Take pictures, lots of pictures. If it needs major work, it would be good to have a journal like gallery on your PC

Stock for stock I believe the 1st gen handles a bit better. *** end doesn't feel as twitchy.
Swaps are a little harder thats about it.
People may say the aftermarket for it sucks but it doesn't. It just doesn't have as much CRAP made for it as the 2nd gen does.

No. Stock parts aren't hard to find. Suspension upgrades not hard to find. Now stock engine upgrades are harder to find. But you can swap a brown top zc in or a b-series with hasport mounts. I believe rpr swapped in a newer d-series engine so if he would reproduce those mounts it would open a whole world up to the 1st gen crx. I mean you aren't going to find off the shelf catbacks or intakes for it but its not as hard as people make it out to be.

My FIRST Honda.
God I miss my '85 Blackburn Black Si. it only had 40,000 miles when it totaled.
'85 looked the best IMHO, because of the ported headlights and black spoiler, nicer looking wheels, too.
Ontario?
Canada had a carbed Si, Isn't that an oxymoron?
Si stands for Sport INjected doesn't it?
Or maybe I'm just not understanding what you wrote.
for me.

yea the canadian DX used the Si head, block, cam etc...only it used a carb as its fuel system...until 87 when the real Si came out here. you will know that the 1st gen guys always want the CDM intake manifold and carb cuz they were better than the USDM ones
my ownership had the trim level as "CSI"

The Canadian DX did NOT use the Si head. It was a non cvcc head, but it's not quite the same as the Si. It is actually better than the Si to develop due to better quench area. It also didn't have dual valve springs like the Si head. Minor differences...
The CDM intake and carb, makes swapping an Si drivetrain into a US DX very easy indeed.
Cheers
