Opinions.... ATTS or 4ws?
no. 4ws means 4 wheel steering. All the wheels turn...rather than just the front. (kind of like on newer gmc trucks.) I wish I had both...thatd be rad...but the 4ws would kind of override the atts wouldnt it? Maybe 4ws uses atts to function, but i dont think so.....any higher level techies wanna help?
4WS does not use ATTS to function. It uses a separate computer which is in the back to steer the rear wheels. ATTS is completely different from 4WS.
4WS was found in 4th gens for USDM but EDM and JDM had it as an option on their 5th gens. The problem with the USDM 4th gen 4WS is that it sometimes messes up and when you're going high speed the quick turning radius can mean trouble for you.
ATTS is better than 4WS IMO.
but for drag racing, I would just stick with a m2b4 tranny or quaife with h22 tranny.

Are you speaking from experience??
I had trouble with my 4WS. The 4WS light doesn't just all of the sudden come on causing the wheels to turn randomly.
I did have a problem with my 4WS where the rear wheels didn't lock when the 4WS light came on. Most of the other people who had an issue with their 4WS did not have a problem with the rear wheels locking. When the 4WS light came on, their cars behaved like a normal 2WS car.
Fortunately, a person on this site posted the fix. Ever since, I no longer have an issue with my 4WS.
If I had it my way, I would get a JDM H22 LSD tranny with my 4WS.

Ok, but I still don't understand. Was the 4WS light already on while he was on the highway or was the 4WS working properly and then all of the sudden it stopped working??
The system was designed to lock the rear wheels when the 4WS stopped working. I only know of two other people who had the issue I had (rear wheels were not locking)
The ATTS seems like a cool idea but I wish they compared it to a Prelude with LSD.
I would like to drive a 2ws Prelude on the track to compare it to mine. I wonder if there really is a difference.
I do know that the car is A LOT easier to manuver in parking lots (under 20mph).

Don't remember, I don't think my friend wants to remember either lol. Whatever the case, he doesn't drive that car anymore.
As I recall, some 4th gens had a RARE factory LSD option...very rare.
