rear suspesion wont go any lower?
Guys I'm having some issues with my car, Ive tried 3 different kind of springs, including coilovers, and it seems like my rear wont go any lower, on the front Ive managed to get the tire inside the fender ( that means LOW! ) rear looks like stock springs always, no matter what I use.
Rear passenger side is higher, im afraid thats because of the fuel tank on the drivers side.
Ive seen crxs with my combo, and the drop is even, on all four sides, something must be wrong on my car's rear suspesion.
What do I have to check? Ive swapped springs 3 times.
neuspeed race springs
dropzone coilovers ( i even removed one of the sleeves and nothing, rear stayed the same )
now I have eibach sportlines, nothing!, same height.
My car is a 88 crx dx, with kyb gr-2 shocks.
bushings are fine, everything is fine, what could be the problem?

Well, as i had learned from the Eibach meet, your bushings "break in," and not your springs. But, if this is the case, i don't know why your front bushings would already be broken-in and not the rear ones.
Maybe it's something to do with the shocks?

On your rear shocks are there "cups" that hold the bottom of the spring in place? If there is then you can knock it off of the shock and put the cup on upsidedown and it will lower it another 2 1/2 - 3 inches.

I know what u mean, but im pretty sure those cups are welded to the shock itself, not 100% sure, but i think they are welded to the shock.
and yes as i said my shocks have those cups.

Maybe you guys have them on backwards? like you have the front on the rear and the rear on the front
Im assuming they would be different because of the extra weight on the front
I dunno, just an idea

yeah this sounds like u got the spring switched
as I did this before drinking and friends and installing don't mix well
lol
but I would check this first before turning things upside down or cutting anything

thats due to the gas tank being on the drivers side, no weight on passengers side

should not matter. sheez. this is actually an tech related thread. with a whole lot of techgeeks on the forum i dont think this should prove to have a hard answer. the problem is not in the shock. its not that my *** is to light. it "hangs" on something else. in a couple of weeks ill be ripping it apart..

My question exactly.

If you want to make sure its not the shock then put the shock+bumpstop in without the spring(just to see how it sits). Then get back to us....it should be tucked a lot. If it doesn't tuck then either the shock is too long or you have some really long bumpstop.

this same thing happend with me, i bought coilovers and springs and same problem. my problem was that the rear has what i call "metal cups" they are some metal cups that u put on to protect the shock from dirt, rain, ect. when u remove these your car should be dropped. check and make sure u dont have those still on there thats what i say

no this is to figure out if your car is not going any lower because it is bottoming on the stop.
how tall is the drop zone coil over spring? 6, 7 or 8 inches?

i dont have coilovers anymore, I have kyb gr-2 shcoks and eibach sportlines springs.
car still looks high *** hell, Ive seen people with this setup and car drops even, same height front and rear.
maybe its my 88 suspesion, who knows.
