Default 1986 CRX Si B20 Swap

I am wanting to start on my 86' crx and i'm going to start by ripping the piece of shat ew1 engine out of it.
B-20 CRV engine is whats going in it with a B-16 head onto it.
trying to find out weres the best places to get the engine w/ under 50,000 miles.
The engine mounts for it are what i mostly need, if anyone has any idea on were to get them let me know.
Please any ideas of stuff to do to it let me know.
Oh yeah spending limit: $4750.00

best idea: get a new game plan. you cannot put a d series head on a b series block! good luck with mounts for a 1g crx...

Also does anyone know were to get a carbon fiber hood for a 1st gen. crx, because i got a guy in reading pa saying he could do the door panels completely in carbon fiber (i still think they would feel like the are going to fall apart every time i shut them) but he wanted a outrageous price to do the hood (its almostjust a square, whats so costly/hard?)

I hope you pull that **** off mang.
The ev1 was my first honda motor.
I wish i still had my 85 hatch.
Right after i got rid of it. They came out with rear coilovers and
B-series swap kits. That car weighs like 1500 or 1600 lbs.
Good luck

Also, I heard that the older Acura Integra's the one with the pop-up lights (not sure on years) that the suspension on one o fhtem would replace some of the shitty suspension crap on the 86' crx.
Yes/No?

What shittie suspension? The suspension on the 1g CRX works very well matter of fact it pulls more G's on the skidpad than the 2g. Also the first gen integra has the same rear setup.

basically everything from an 86-87 integra will bolt directly up to 84-87 CRX. engine, suspension, ECU, etc.

heeltoe.com had the hoods. not sure on availability.

b-series mounts can be had from hasport, so can the shift linkage and axles.

As already said, Hasport makes mount for B-series into 1G CRX's. But if you are planning on making big power in that little car..don't. I have one and I am VERY aware of how short the wheelbases are and how unstable they are at high speeds or under alot of power. One of the guys from Revhard tried drag racing a 1G CRX with a B-Series. He raced it twice..crashed it twice. But..1G crx is an awesome swerve machine. I don't believe you said that abouit the stock motor either. that little 1.5 is a tough, tough ,tough motor...but its your decision and your money.

I have ordered the B-20 and its in shipment from Japan, it has 29,980 Miles on it. Question: Turbo, any possible way one could fit?
any ideas on how it could fit let me know.
Am even willing to tube framing for the whole front,, does anyone think it would fit.
Also the wheel base is not going to be a problem once i'm done with it.
I'm hiring a few different people to help with the project and some guys from a few local car clubs and motorsport shops are going to be working on most of the crap for the suspension and all that crap to keep it from f*ucking up when i hits high speeds.
this was posted under my brothers honda tech SN, just relized that

Its been down the track but not a full pass or anything. Heres a quote from ComposiMo on the resource about it.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by ComposiMo at crxresource.org &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Well, just got back from the track, and as expected, the car ran beautifully!

At only 10lbs of boost, the car hit a trap speed of 112mph... We weren't going for any kind of an actual ET though, because i didn't want to break the car the day before its owner picks it up , but the fastest ET was only a 14.07, with a 2.4 '60... haha..It was fun though.

Anyway, 1st through halfway through 3rd is basically completely useless... we need to get this car some slicks and some racing axles, and see what she'll do... its making a bit more power than it did earlier in the day on the dyno also because of the fixed ignition...

As for the dyno session today, we went to a local shop here that builds and tunes some VERY fast Grand Nationals.. its pretty much all they do, and thanks to our new mechanic/shop manager here at RPI (i'll formally introduce him a bit later ) who knew them from his previous job down here, we were able to get an import onto their dyno (they didn't know what to do... "ya mean you gotta run the car facing the other way???" bwah ha ha haaaa).. but they were good sports about it. The dyno they use is a 'Superflow' dyno, and is comparable (numbers-wise) to a Mustang dyno from what i'm told, so the numbers it puts out are about 10-15% lower numbers than what your average Dynojet dyno (whcih is what 90% of people use it seems) would read...

Anyway, the car was able to put down an amazing 285 to the wheels at only 10psi! (which if my math is right, on a Dynojet would mean roughly around 300-315 or so) We then bumped the boost up to 12, and exposed a huge weakness in this car... the stock rods... LoL... just kidding.... nah, the ignition began to cut out on us, and wouldn't rev past 6k, even when we moved the boost back to 10psi... so, we fine tuned the maps based on the data from the good runs at 10psi, and took the car back off to take to the shop and replace pretty much the entire ignition system... it was then, that we decided to take it to the track with the intention of duplicating the 4th gear pulls, to see if the ignition would break up again.... it didn't..

This car has a LOT more in it. Its unfortunate that i just don't have more time to mess with it. The car is back together though, and i'll post up some pics tomorrow of the car in its final form. Its been a hell of a trip from stock to shock, but the end product is more than we could have ever hoped for!

I say we should place some e-bets on this. I say this car is going to run into the mid 11's. with some beefed up drivetrain..any takers. Btw, that car sounds like a monster to keep straight.

My '87 Si HB w/ a stock B20vtec setup (stock block and stock B16 head) ran a best time of 13.6 when i had it. That was on a set of beat up slicks that werent heated up at all. Im sure a CRX could break into 12's with that setup but it wont break 11's.

make sure you get a rebuilt block....stock B20 sleeves = breakage...look into a dart block

dig around on resource.crx.org
i know that there is a 1 piece carbon fiber hood on there for the first gens....looks awesome, it eliminates the header panels and mimics the lines of the second gen a bit more....
