all motor LS set up , waddaya think???
ok well i got the b18b ( LS tranny) with itr (oversized) pistons, ARP rod bolts and head studs, ACL bearings , stp block gaurd, AEM FPR and rail, AEM short ram intake and im looking to get some mild head work done (knife edge ports and a general clean up) head's already decked with a 3 angle valve job and 2 1/2 exhaust all the way back no cat just a high flowing muffler. this set up will be in a 96 cx hatch that is gutted pretty good. what are some opinions on this set up , im not going all crazy just wanna have a quick street car. do you guys think this should put down a couple decent time slips or should i look into a set of 404's or a vtec head . i really dont want to go vtec but will if i have to.
one more question , what do i need to do to my valve train for the 404's??

First you dont need the fuel rail, your stock one can handle up to 400 HP so save your money and put it towards buying some crower dual valve springs, retainers, and 404's Also think about some kind of management even if its just an SAFC. Also might wanna look into bigger TB and skunk or modded AEBS manifold. Thats all I can think of now, your car should be pretty nasty with that set up with a nice torque curve.
I would get the 404's and a decent valvetrain. I run the 404's and I LOVE them. Felt like a night and day difference in my motor. I use dual valvesprings and titanium retainers from http://www.honda-performance.com/ in my setup and they have put up with numerous 8k+ revs. The stock LS cams couldn't breathe enough for my headwork and I suspect that will be your case also.
ok sounds good , waht did you pay for your 404's with the springs and retainers, also i already have the fuel rail on there wth the regulator as well. well thanks for all the help so far.
Id run Hondata with 404's. You can get away with A SAFC I suppose but....
Also get some bigger injectors for the 404's as with any cam that big...
