I think I'm screwed...any kind of permanent fix?
O.K. my buddy was helping me install my door poppers this past weekend...but it didn't work out long story. Anyhow, he put the brain to the system under my brake and clutch, not directly under but a little further up. So, the door popper kit is the wrong one so I take the brain out. I turn on the car and all you hear is a vaccum leak. My buddy Aaron and I are looking in the engine for loose hoses...everything is in it's place. Then Aaron realizes where the screw to the brain was has punctured the "area" where all the vaccum is created. . .so I just put the screw back in. Today I was driving and I could hear it.. . .now I'm not boosting like I was! Any ideas how to fix this. . .or how much to replace?
Thanks,
Marc

Your the first one to know it's SP. . .
O.K. the brain was about 6" long. If I pressed the clutch all the way down I would hit it. He put it on the firewall inside the car.

did u punctured the brake booster!!??
I think we have a winner... sounds like someone's going to have to pull off that brake booster at the very least and see if it can be patched up - otherwise get a replacement brake booster.
If you REALLY want to be a cheapass you could just try sticking a wad of epoxy putty over the hole and see if it seals up OK.

Gee I've never won anything before! anyway I can hear a vaccum leak somewheres. . .when I push the brake pedal in, it goes away. . .oh well we shall see...
JB weld will only patch up the metal housing!
ive never opened one up but, im assuming that
internally, there has to be a diaphragm of some sort
which is obviously punctured too,... JB weld wouldnt fix this one..
so i suggest you take it off and replace the thing,
you dont want it getting worse.!!!

It should be ok just to patch the housing, if You punctured the bladder inside, your brake pedal would feel like there was a brick under it. Make sure you sand the paint away from the area you patch. It wont stick very well to the painted surface.
Oh, and nice job by the way.
