Default Turbo f22, and YES I searched but....

I have searched this topic and asked this question before but I am trying to get a direct answer on what needs to be done. I have a 96 Accord f22b1 motor with 145k miles. I am planning on turning this car from a daily driver to a project car. I want to rebuild my internals to hold about 10-15lbs of boost safely.

What exactly would need to be replaced to hold this psi? Pistoins, rods, fuel management.....?

what would be a good setup? (I don't know anything mechanical, please teach me)

And I am looking between the F-max kit and Drag gen 4 kit. I keep hearing mixed reviews on both, any more opinions? http://www.turbo-kits.com/accord_turbo_kits.html

what kind of whp and torque gain might I expect from these kits around 15psi with built internals?

I keep hearing about Hondata this is a fuel management system right? which leaves me with my last question, how does fuel management work?

Sorry if I offended anybody with my lack of knowledge, plus I can't post in the Forced induction forum because of my 98% rating

Simply put, you need to spend more time researching. Your questions are too broad and general to be answered point blank, becuase many of the answers are so extensive. Browse this site and howstuffworks, as the guy above me said, and you WILL become more knowledgeable. Then come back and post whatever questions you may jhave remaining.

im guessing that, since you don't know much about a turbo setup, you don't quite have an idea of what it will cost to build up our little f22. to do it right THE FIRST TIME, be prepared to spend a lot of mone; though i do not wish to discourage you. pistons, rods, sleeves, and all that can be very expensive. don't forget about adding in the tuning which is just as important, if not a little more important. i think the going rate is ~$150 an hour on top of the $500 hondata ( or you could try uberdata ). like Atheist and propwdialogue said...RESEARCH!

building an f22 to hold 15 psi is pretty much the same as building an f22 to hold 20-25 psi...the same parts will be replaced, so if you are going to do one, why not do the other...

I'm currently running 10 psi using a DRAG 4 kit on my F23 accord with the stock motor. DRAG kit it better IMO, the piping is cleaner, and fits very well, plus the MF2 controller & extra injectors w/ the F-Max kit isn't the best fuel solution IMO...

Basically do more research unless you have an endless money supply-you dont want to buy stuff you think you need then not use it..Also dont get a turbo kit if you are running 15-25 psi-you'll only use half the stuff from the kit-the manifold sucks from drag, the wastegate sucks, the FMU sucks, and the inline pump sucks-what you should do is go custom piece it together how you want it....just my .02

did everyone else catch the part where his car has 145k on the clock, or did i read wrong?

i dunno if i'd want to boost an engine with that many miles, especially with that much boost. get an engine swap and then build up more, it will be more reliable

as long as it has good compression i wouldnt care how many miles the motor has...build the kit right....do lots of research....and dont skimp on the fuel mang.

i did a HMT turbo set up on my car that had 170k miles with a very shitty set up for fuel manag and got 15k of hard miles out of it...if i would of did it right the first time and got good fuel manag i probley would still be driving with the same motor.

if you look there has been more than one person to run more than 10 psi on stock internals and did not blow the motor...

oh and most of the stuff for turboing civics you can apply to turboing accords....this will help with the research end of things

Yes, research is my main priority now. I would love to either rebuild my motor or swap in a JDM F22. I really want a "streetable" turbo Accord monster(I would pick this project over buying a Skyline, EVO or STI any day, Turbo Accords seem more unique). 15+psi would be great to, but I don't want to over do it from the start. I never heard of Howthingswork.com but I am going to check it out. thanks everyone

do a compression test, depending on results you could run 10-11 psi all day long as long as you get a good tune. ps....whats your definition of monster? what are your power plans? et plans?

My first step is a compression test. Then the plan is to reconstruct my f22b1 to hold boost since my milege is so high. My overall goal is to produce 15-18psi max output, while keeping my engine still reliable for daily driving on 8-10psi. I do not know what power adders I need, this is why I started the thread. I am doing research but I was looking for someone to give me a list of what internals will need to be upgraded to achieve this. anyone?
