Anyone autox with the NJ chapter BMWCCA?
Like the title says, anyone ever attend one of their events? They have one this sunday in S. Plainfield, NJ. I'm considering going, despite the terrible tires on my car. I'd love to know about the lot, number of runs, etc. Thanks guys.

I've been autocrossing for 10 years now, and I must say, going to that lot just once caused me to hang out for 15-20 minutes to say hi to a few people and then head home.
Sometimes an autocross just isn't worth the risk when compared to a road course... Let me put it this way, if an SCCA safety steward had to be present, things would get ugly.
Try the Porsche event at the PNC Bank Arts Center instead... The Porsche guys are a little better when it comes to course design and event execution.

A bunch of us are heading to Aberdeen, MD for the Philly Region "Holbert Memorial"... Great event from a great club memorializing a great driver where the proceeds go to great charities.
I hope things go great!

Hey Anthony, thanks for the advice. A firend of mine told me that the PNC course is not that great, so I was looking for some alternatives. I guess it's PNC after all. Thanks again, hopefully I'll get out to the SCCA englishtown events this year.

True, but it'll allow you to practice slow speed courses... And being in a Honda as well, I like those from time to time because they give me the opportunity to work on certain elements (and setup) of autocrosses that hurt our low-torque cars and subsequently make me a _little_ faster once I go to larger, higher speed courses.
It's jut that running 40mph less than 20' from poles and curb islands on a seal-coated, seldom used (even for parking) lot at the BMW event didn't spark an immediate love interest in me.

There is also an event with the South Jersey Region SCCA this Sunday 6/27 at Atco Raceway in their parking lot area:

I'm designing the course this weekend
, and it should contain both fast and slow sections... est. 40-50 second course.
Feel free to contact me if you are interested or have any questions.
