No, no one has been able to verify that from any reliable sources. Honda insiders continue to deny the report.

i dont know, but i think they might be becaus the nsx isnt so popular, i mean if i had one i would be very happy with driving the shitola out of it, but who wants to pay 70k for a honda?(besides you, me and everyone else on hondatech)
Honda is very good in the F-1 races these days. Honda will build an super sports car again I bet! Same with Toyota. They have to bring something fast again, since the goal of Toyota is the become the world biggest car manufacter, so a super sports car is a must!!!!!!
Nissan has the 350Z
Mitsu has the EVO
Subaru has the Impreza
Mazda has the RX8
Toyota has to come with an super sports car to reach the goal
Honda must build a super sports car, cause the other japanese car manufactor do that also.

This is some interesting news...so perhaps the death of the NSX is a bit exaggerated.

I've often thought that adding a V8 engine option to a few Acura models was a good idea as well as fixing the wrong wheel drive configuration found in MOST Acura's.
A V8 RL with SH-AWD would be very tastey indeed.
Not to mention an NSX with a V8 and SH-AWD. That would be great and NEEDED!
I've heard Toyota is bringing the Volta concept to market as the next Supra. If so, that is what the NSX will battle again.
Here's to hoping a new rivalry is in the making.

Though the thought of an AWD V8 NSX is interesting, I'd rather see it keep the MR configuration. What would be wonderful is the option of having an AWD system.

it's a rumor, and lets hope it stays that way.... cross your fingers and pray so they make it and send it over here...

well... unfortunently even if they make the nsx and the nsx r.... the US will only get the nsx... we always get kicked in the *** when it comes to nice cars and we'll probably never end up seeing the nsx r on a US showroom floor.... we haven't even seen the rsx type r on the showroom floor...

now is this going to be a v-8 vtec? holy screaming ***** batman. I dont know about a v-8 in a honda. Tons of weight to be upfront in a sports car. Most super sports cars ive seen have been v6 TT or something along those lines.
i also read that the hsc project was cancelled, not shelfed, CANCELLED. the cancellation is due to a lack of sales/profit with the nsx and the fact that honda is trying to go against the german luxo-mobiles, rather than the other jdm pocket rockets. btw, the next big performance car from toyota is supposed not going to be the volta/supra, but a reincarnated version of the 2000gt. it wouldnt be a 2.0l i6 like the 2000gt, but it would instead be the 5000gt with a 5.0l v10 to tie in with their f1 cars.
Dude WTF? The NSX is an MR configuration car. And have you never heard of Ferrari or Lambo's...even a Vette has a V8? Jeez, where do these people come from?!

correct me if im wrong, but isnt the corvette technically also an mr? if i remember correctly (which i probably dont
), the engine sits behind the front axle, thus making it mr because the engine is completely between the axles. isnt this the same way with the new slr?

I think they will definitely build another gen NSX, I figure the reason they build them now is just to have a supercar in their lineup
cuz no one is really buying them now, its just a status thing for the company

The Vette is considered FMR. Front-mid engine rear drive because the motor sits more aft of the front axle. Still FR though technically speaking.

All the news and blogs from the Japanese market says the Volta is coming. I guess which comes first might be academic at this point but I sure wouldn't mind a remake of the 2000GT. I almost bought one of those but someone found out how much it was worth before I could scoop it up.

its amazing how the 2kgt didnt sell worth **** here in the states because nobody wanted one, then the 240z comes along shortly after and steals the potential storm of the 2kgt, but in the end, a 2kgt will go for 10x more than a 240z in equal conditions. its amazing what some people will do to just have something the other guy cant have. im glad that the volta is coming over instead of the 5kgt; bout damn time some performance hybrids started appearing. hey, maybe the volta will prod honda into dusting off the shelf that the dualnote/dnx sits on
