which headgasket for b18c R all motor?
wanting to get a spoon or mugen headgasket to raise my compression what thickness is best to get? thanks and is there any shops in so cal i can get one cheap?
dont bother with a mugen or spoon one. too expensive.
better solution:
buy a b18c headgasket(12251-P30-014) $60.00 or so
buy a can of permatex spray-a-gasket, the red stuff or the copper
find a friend with a dremel or a drill press
get rid of the rivets on the stock gasket.. then decide which layer you wanna use. i would use the bottom one. then spray both sides with the spray gasket and put the head on. good to go.
outer black layers are 12 thousandths each, inner is 8 or 9 thousandths.. so do the math and you can find out how much increase you'll get in compression.

Spoon and Mugen are all made by Honda so quality will be way higher then stock head gasket. Spoon's head gasket is a 2 layer laser welded head gasket, it provides more engine stability during hi-rpm ranges.
