Default Virginia/MD Tracks

Just moved to VA (I work for a Fed Law Enforcement Agency, I move a ton), and I am looking for tracks for the weekend. I live in Crystal City and am willing to drive up to a hour to get some good runs in. I searched the HT website and only came up with the VA INTL Speedway. Any places would be great.

I post a ton on http://www.jdmintegra.com and we lack track knowledge outside of So-Cal. God help us.

Welcome to VA Now please stay away from my "fields"

http://www.mirdrag.com - Great track

http://www.maplegroveraceway.com - My favorite

http://www.virginiamotorsportspk.com - My second favorite

http://www.capitolraceway.com - I believe it was resurfaced this year, but it's usually full of rednecks

http://www.etownraceway.com - A must for any East Coast racer

All these track are within 4 hours (some closer) and are great track to run on.

I go to VMP all the time, Its a very nice track and the second thursday of each month is "Hot Import Thursdays" and is only $10 to run or watch. You can run a ton on those nights. and on Fridays its $15. Its well worth it

Budscreek in MD has a nice track too

If you wanna see rednecks come up to 75/80 or mason dixon. Captial doesn't have **** in comparison.

Mason is an underated track though.

Thanks for all the replies, doing my research as we speak Does anyone know of any good, dedicated road courses? This post was moved to Drag Racing, and was only now moved back to road. Any good Auto-X clubs to join up with in the area? Thanks again

You can come check out Summit Point Motorsports Park on July 10 at Hyperfest. This track is about an hour west of DC near Berryville, VA. At the Hyperfest, you can see a lot of the ECHC competitors that post here (they will be racing both Saturday and Sunday) and you can also drive your car on the Jefferson Circuit for $40 for a 20-25 minute session. You get an instructor and classroom session as well. If you are an advanced driver, you could get on the wait list for the weekend HPDE 3 by e-mailing registration@nasaracing.net. I think there are only a couple of people on that list, so your chances are pretty good.
Hyperfest is NASA-VA's attempt to introduce new people to the world of road racing and HPDE. It is a spectator event in which we have our normal sprint races and driving schools, but we also have many other on-track and off-track activities to appeal to the masses. At this Hyperfest, here are some of the things you can expect:
US Drift Competition featuring Team Lexus and other national competitors
Rollover Contest
Fuzion Tire Tag Team Tricycle Race and relay
Bikini Jousting
Hypershowoff (large car show)
Hyperdrives
Shotgun ridealongs
Zambelli Fireworks
A midway of vendors

Admission is $15 at the gate and $10 if you can find a coupon at many auto parts stores, convenience stores in nearby areas, etc.

If you need more info, please e-mail me at laura@nasaracing.net.
If you want to register for hyperdrives, go here: http://www.hyper-fest.com/
If you want info on NASA-VA go here: http://www.nasaracing.net

Hope to see you there!
Laura Cobetto, NASA-VA
