turbo prelude SH ???
I recall posting quite a few times about this, anyways here we go.
The ATTS usally craps out right around 250 HP, making it usless dead weight. The only REAL way to get rid of the atts, is to pull the unit and do a tranny swap. You could leave it in, but it will take a big turd, and in the event you swap ECU's youll lose it right there as well. Everyone says get a base and blah blah, just swap for a JDM h22 tranny and away you go. As i recall you might need to fabricate a few additional peices to get it in. Good luck.

sure do, you need to make a lil bracket and tweak some ****.....
My buddy did it...... search for clendaniel, then go to his personal webpage, its somewhere in there

You've got a couple options...keep the ATTS unit w/ a piggyback setup (hack, emanage, fmu, etc), disable the unit and run a standalone, or swap out for a base-style tranny and run whatever you want. I swapped mine out for a quaife-equipped h23 trans...you can see the basics of the mods necessary here: http://ian.clendaniel.net/gallery/noatts I wouldn't worry about this, though, until you're running into issues with it. There's no use throwing parts at the car that you don't need, get the bugs worked out of the f/i setup first...once it starts kicking off and having problems then take care of it.

I'm going to be running into the same problem real soon since my block and head are both being fully built. Just pull the atts fuse if your going to be running boost. Leave it the way it is and it will drive just like a base. It weighs about 83 lbs, I've got my atts off the block right now and just weighed it. That doesn't even equal a tenth of a second in the 1/4 mile. Problem solved!

just tune your stuff at like 235 whp. you'll be straight. then you can keep the atts for superb handling. i forgot what the stock whp (not crank) is for the 5G lude, but i would guess it's like 160-165 or something. that leaves you some good room for some boost.
Considering you're planning to boost... I suggest you dump the ATTS and get a standalone system, e.g. - Hondata, AEM EMS...
They will give you the tuning capability to keep your motor from blowing up and getting maximum power lol.

if u get different ECU (Hondata, AEM EMS...) and unhook the ATTS...you could run a turbo w/o having to buy a new tranny ?
is that all u would have to do (is it a good thing to do)??

Pull the fuse and it will drive like a base only it will be a bit heavier. 82-85 lbs isn't that big of deal in the 1/4 mile department, about a tenth of a second if that, whoopy just pull the fuse if your going to boost above 6 to 8psi!
i'm a newbie and just still a little unclear about what is the best thing to do.....don't wanna mess my car up by doing something wrong

It depends...if you're planning on keeping car and want to get the most out of it then the tranny swap with an LSD is the best IMHO.

Pulling the fuse only acts like an open diff, though...if you're making too much power for the ATTS unit chances are you'd _really_ benefit from the addition of a LSD.

WTF are you talking about? If you'd read the rest of the thread you would see that I have a base transmission on my SH block which easily fit a quaife. His question was whether it was better to swap off the ATTS tranny for a base one. I was simply stating that if he was making the power necessary to have to get rid of ATTS that he'd likely benefit from an LSD instead of "pulling the fuse" as suggested in another post.
