Default B17 head and ITR head compression

Will a b17 pr3 head and a b18c5 pr3 head have the same compression on a b18c5 block? I have been told that the b17 head will have less compression but i dont understand why...anyone explain?

The only differences are the cams and valvetrain, and the fact that the ITR head has a very mild factory port job.
