Default RECARO Pole Position

I've searched the web and the best price I could find was roughly $599 new from optionsauto; and their prices are normally higher compared to most vendors.

Where did you guys pick yours up since the Recaro PP seems to be a popular autocross seat. Brackets for 97+ Prelude/Rails.

Thanks

For the people who IM'd me - or those who didn't - asking price is $450 plus shipping/pick up. It's currently in NJ.

One of the two has minor scratches in the back gelcoat from a back brace. Price is without brackets. It's a little clunky 'cause I'm working from a hotel room but pictures can be found at http://www.evaluand.com/seat/

The seat that I'm interested in selling will be making a visit the Summit Pt. HyperFest, where RJ will have temporary custody if anyone wants to take a look. Price (no brackets) for your choice of the two is $450 plus shipping/pick-up.

Hmmmm. I thought they were sold already. I guess now I have to go sit in one and see if it will fit in the Miata.

That should be no problem seeing as how they are in my garage anyway!

Sorry for the confusion, Joe - I'm keeping one to use for the enduro (my SPG Racer won't fit all of the drivers) and to use as the co-driver's seat for rallies. One is going and you're welcome to it. In fact, I'll cut you a deal since you're helping out. Email me if you are interested.

"RECARO pole position: Seat made of glass fibre reinforced plastic GRP. The distinct shell shape and a choice of covers make your car into a luxury class 'racing vehicle'. MSRP From: US $660.00"

Makes $450 look pretty good! Thanks!

I've never seen the Apex in person but being familiar with the line, it appears to be a new model that is similar to the Profi SPG. On that topic, there is what looks like it might be a great deal on ebay...

I don't know anything about the seller or that particular deal but it looks like an SPG. It might be a little scruffy but it also isn't getting much bidding action.

I saw both...they look almost identical. Something that really piqued my interest is this Recaro Profi SPA:

I'd love to get it, but it costs $2000. I'd like the split cushion feature though. I'm wondering if you could swap out the SPG's single thigh cushion for the split-cushion.

Maybe some SPG owners can chime in regarding the feasibility....

I THINK that the seat bottom cushions are interchangable among the SPA/SPG lines. There are two basic designs - the "thick," that has the split front, and the "thin" that is essentially flat. My SPG Racer came with the thick one but I'm trying to find the thin, to improve headroom. I'd gladly trade with anyone who would be interested and actually thought about bidding on the one at the link I listed. That would be a stable of four Recaros however, and that borders on the obessive...

I was looking at it. I e-mailed the seller to inquire about shipping rates and his address bounced back...

He's also got a pimpy JDM Bride (looks like a Zeta II, if anyone cares) that's still in the $170 range. I'm over the age of 12, though, so I'm too big to fit.

**Crossing my fingers** that they are indeed interchangeable. I've heard rumors of two (2) different SPG's floating around as you suggested--aka, "thick" and "flat". I'm looking to pick up a pair soon. BTW, what car are your Recaro's in right now? Thanks for responding.

SPG "Flat":

I tried sitting in my buddy's Bride Zeta2, and at 175lbs and 5'10", I couldn't even attempt to get comfortable. He's about 6'0" 210lbs, so I can't imagine how he feels.
