removing engine without tranny?
hey all, the honda manual doesn't detail the process of removing the engine without the tranny... does this mean it's supposed to be impossible or something like that? because i'm nearly done doing this already.
thanks very much! help is so appreciated its not even funny.

It is impossible. Even if you unbolt the tranny from the engine, and then undo the rear mount and the drivers side mount, you still have to unbolt the passenger side mount because the input shaft is stuck in the motor.

bah! damn you front wheel drive!
i doubted if there was gonna be enough room under the hood to pull the input shaft out... there's not nearly enough room.
damn. oh well, time to kick it into high gear. i wanna get this bitch done today by 4.

even if you could get it out without the tranny, removing the bolts that hold the motor to the tranny is much easier out of the car anyway.

Not impossible, but it is a very big pain in the ***. I have done it once way back when I didn't know better. And with taking motor out through the bottom of the car instead of the top. Just do yourself a favor and pull the whole swap. I can yank a complete motor tranny combo in about 45 minutes.
