1993 accord clutch master cylinder
I just bought a 93 lx coupe and I noticed that the clutch was acting funny, so I went to bleed the clutch. When I opened the MC there was no fluid in there and there was a funny looking round disc with a divider runnning down the diameter of the the disc. it is white in color and it fits perfectly right at the botom of the clutch MC, right above where the intake spout is....so what the heck is this thing???
in my integra it does not have this...what is its purpose??? so i just proceeded to bleed it the usual way and after i just left it in the MC. so its just kinda floating around in there....what is it and do i need it? what purpose does it serve? thanks for any help.

My Integra has one of those. It just floats in the fluid. I wonder if it's just to take up space, so there's less open surface of brake fluid to absorb moisture??
It is a float...I think what it does is since you are not filling either the brake MC or the clutch MC to the brim it makes it so the fluid doesn't 'slosh' around.
My brake MC has one too...here is a picture of it:

Is that what you're talking about?
