Default 4th Gen Prelude Suspension Recommendations

Mid september-ish I am going to get myself one 'dem phancy shmancy 4th gen preludes. Suspension is first on the list. I have a pretty good setup on my GSR BUT I got recommendations first. What are your recommendations for the '92-96 prelude? After the car I will have ABOUT $2000 to use for suspension. Thanx(even before you start, that was a pre-emptive "thanx", just know that I have a whole bag of "thanx" with your name on it).

Post pics once you have the shocks in. Tein SS comes with a camber kit or am I gonna have to hit up skunk2.... again? I should mention that ride quality is NOT a concern.

if you're gonna spend all 2000 on suspension then the Tein SS is the way to go, my friend had it on his hatch lowered 2.5 inches and rode waaaaaaaaay better than stock... it was beautiful, lol

Yeah, if you have 2000 just for suspension, get some Tiens...You'd still have a bit left for sway/strut bars...

Gotta tell ya for $2000- I'd buy Koni Yellows (~$600) & then get them revalved & shortened (~$500), buy a set of custom rate Ground Controls (~$350). With the remaining money, I'd purchase a rear & front set of adjustable upper ball joints for camber adj. (~$200) & then I'd spend the last $350 on a decent rear anti-sway bar

Now, that is a 4th gen with a good suspension.

I can't believe no one asked you what type of driving you do to warrant a suspension upgrade.

Shame on all of you.

no kidding.

tein SS is a decent street suspension, but when it comes to real performance, it's half ***. the dampers are pretty shitty. you're stuck with the pillow soft spring rates. it's hard to get the dampers revalved. bla bla bla.

for the discerning suspension shopper, there are a couple of choices here: koni yellows and ground controls (custom rates, up to 600 lbs/in of spring before needing to revalve the konis) or something like a buddy club or zeal or JIC setup. granted i think JIC is run by a bunch of idiots, their FLT-A2 is a decent suspension. the buddy clubs are similar spec/design. the good thing about koni is that it's easy to get em serviced. and ground control may not answer their phones all the time, but their products are top notch.

with a 2000 dollar budget, i'd go with what luder94 said: GC + Koni (500F/600R or something like that) an adjustable progress 27mm rear sway, SPC ball jt camber kits (unfortunately skank2 doesn't make prelude camber kits), and some 205/50/15 azenis.
