Boosted tow vehicles really aren't a good idea, IMHO. Pressurized intakes make lots of heat, an when towing, you're going to twisting that supercharger good. Probably be able to watch the temperature gauge rise. Especially in Texas.

If you want a Nissan, a much better choices would be a Titan. Basically same price, but 306hp and 379 lb-ft of torque. You'll barely know that ITR is behind you.

If you are gonna tow with the Xterra, I would make sure it's under warranty. We towed with a similarly powered V6 Explorer and the motor called it quits after 4 weekends.

Like ITAIntegraLS said, I tow with one and have had no problems up to this point (25 k on odo). Power is adequate when towing car on open trailer with equipment. Towing behavior is very good (better than my previous V8 Mountaineer).

The one bad thing about it is the mileage sucks even when not towing...you will be lucky to get 14-15 MPG. If you are on flat land you might do better.
